Working Group
Human Geography with a focus on Economic Geography
Welcome!
The working group is interested in the effects of major economic, social and ecological dynamics, especially economic structural change, digitalization, globalization processes and environmental change, and the resulting reactions of individuals, companies, communities and institutions. In particular, we analyze how different groups of actors adapt themselves—or their activities—to these processes and try to influence economic changes.
Our research combines perspectives from Relational Economic Geography and Environmental Economic Geography with different approaches such as sustainability transition, human-environment relations, climate change adaptation, risk mitigation, global production networks, new retail geography and labour geography.
Regional focus: Europe, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Tanzania and Turkey.
