Ioana Branga-Peicu has an academic background in economics, finance and psychology and previously worked as a research associate for the Research Unit for Labour and Development in Southern Africa. Her research focuses on behavioural economics issues, particularly issues that aim to improve social structures, economic progress, and social wellbeing.
Ioana Branga-Peicu's work on the project aimed at sustainable consumption of cocoa products. In 2019 Ioana Branga-Peicu, Prof. Dr. Stefanie Engel and Dr. Ann-Kathrin Kößler with RedMorpheus GmbH developed a 360° virtual reality video. The video was shot in Kumasi, Ghana, in collaboration with the Kuapa Kokoo cooperative. It describes some of the social and environmental effects of Fairtrade certification on cocoa farmers in Ghana.
